Before buying a laptop, you must first understand the meaning of hardware configuration. This will determine the efficiency of your laptop. Laptops are available in many different configurations and you should choose the one that suits your needs. If you are buying a laptop mainly for gaming purpose, then you should choose one that has more options for video displays.

Most branded laptops come with Pentium 4 processor with 2.2GHZ speed. This will determine the processing speed of your laptop. 512 MB RAM will be sufficient for all the application and gaming features. You can choose to have 20GB hard drive or you can choose the one with more memory if you want your laptop to be a massive storage device. LCD monitors are more common with the modern laptops. Choose the laptop with DVD read write driver so that it is compatible with all the external peripheral storage devices. Floppy drive will also be present in that laptop. Once you have purchased a suitable configuration, you can then load your favorite operating and applications.
